If you are interested in prepping, survival culture, outdoor activities, outdoor recreation, or any of the topics discussed at-length on SurvivalBeacon.com, we would love to consider you for our team.
As a relatively new online resource in the prepping community, we are still building our core content, posting exceptional, consistent content on our survival blog, and planning a content calendar for consistent release of our publications.
We are a small team of individuals interested in everything related to prepping and survival, and we are interested in bringing a few great, reliable writers to our team. If this interests you, please continue reading below; there are some restrictions.
What We Are Looking For
Presently, we are not interested in one-time paid articles or sponsored blog posts. This is something we will not do. That is not what we are looking for.
We know those sort of posts are common in the blogosphere. However, since we are only interested in unique content of the highest quality, we simply aren’t look for those sort of relationships. We believe sponsored arrangements generally hurt the website and the associated community, because such relationships encourage flashy, quickly-outdated, click-based click-bat content. This content is only subjectively good, not objectively good, and quickly fades away. We are interested in content that brings in new readers organically and will stand the test of time.
At Survival Beacon, we focusing on 100% original, 100% authoritative, 100% consistent, and 100% value-added content on topics not-yet-discussed online. On topics that are already discussed in-depth online, we are only interested in articles that add additional value to the reader beyond what existing, competing content does online. We only want to partner with individuals who agree with our mission and who are interested in writing with the above goals in mind.
The Types of Topics and Content We Want
We want to partner with writers who are interested and able to write great content in the following arenas:
- Prepping news and examination/review of specific survival topics
- Editorial-style columns on specific disasters, disaster risk, surviving during specific scenarios, and rebuilding after a major disaster
- In-depth content on self-sufficiency, living off-the-grid, homesteading, defense & tactical preparation, and urban survival
- Objective gear selection guides, product selection process, and unbiased product reviews
In working with you, our #1 goal is consistent content. We want content to be released frequently, but more importantly, we want it to be release consistently. As such, we will work with you to develop your personalized content calendar and article release dates, share with you our editing and review process, and then decide whether the topic is best done as a daily, bi-daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or quarterly release.
Writers interested in the four topics listed in the bullet points above should contact us.
Get in Touch
In doing so, please provide:
a background of yourself (primary language, educational history, age), your background and interest in prepping and survival (how long have you been interested, what do you know, what do you do, how involved are you), the topic you’re interested in (which of the bullet points above, or another topic), how frequently you want to write (can you be consistent, is the topic one that can be released on a consistent schedule, etc), and any questions you may have for the Survival Beacon team.
Moving forward, we are only looking for one writing partner. We would start at a trial basis, then familiarize and integrate you with our process. As our relationship strengthens and the site grows we will expand the benefits of working as one of the limited number of writers on our team. We don’t want individuals to write for us, we want you to write with us.
As always, please contact us if you have questions about writing for us, about the topics available, the criteria, the process, or anything related to writing on Survival Beacon or any other aspect of our website.
