A Bug Out Vehicle (BOV) is a vehicle used to evacuate during an emergency or natural disaster. Prepared individuals will secure their BOB and then evacuate to their BOL.
BOVs are defined as any vehicle used to bug-out, but can include an expanded definition. BOVs typically contain a dedicated emergency vehicle kit or dedicated G.O.O.D. kit.
Within survivalist culture, some preppers keep a dedicated bug-out vehicle. A Dedicated BOV is prepared by the owner and intended primarily for use in an emergency evacuation. Such dedicated BOVs are typically older vehicles or four-wheel drive trucks or SUVs.
Bug out vehicles make evacuating on foot with a bug out bag look like a primitive endeavor. A BOV provides increased mobility, security, and a host of other benefits.
